Elementary School Latin Camp

To kick off the start of summer, join us for our FREE epic fun Latin summer camp! The curriculum was developed by the Paideia Institute with a goal of getting more kids exposed to Latin through fun things like games and mythology. Latin improves English reading by up to 150% and one Latin root can be the key to 20 or more English words. The camp is being put on by the Academy's high school Latin club which includes volunteers with experience at several local camps and drama clubs.The camp is designed for elementary school and early middle school participants and will be held at the Academy in the Chamblee/Dunwoody area. Pre-registration required; sign up by May 24 to ensure your spot. Enrollment will be limited so sign up soon!

The Drama Club has been working all semester on this hilarious play about complaints and resolutions! Watch their efforts come alive on the stage at St. Luke's Presbyterian Church. Tickets are $7, and you can buy one from any cast or crew member.

I know the cast and crew look forward to seeing some friendly faces in the audience!

Our first Parents' Night Out will be Tuesday, September 26 at 6:30 p.m. at El Potrillo (8465 Holcomb Bridge Rd, Alpharetta, GA 30022). All Academy parents are welcome to come -- we hope these nights will be a fun way for you to get to know each other. (Students are always welcome, too, of course!)

How do you handle standardized testing as a homeschooler? Join Suzanne Rezelman and Amy Sharony for a conversation that includes the nuances of Georgia's homeschool testing requirements, testing at home, strategies for elementary, middle, and high school testing, registering for SAT, ACT, and AP tests as a homeschooler, how to handle test prep in your homeschool, and the steps homeschoolers need to take to get accommodation for standardized tests.
