Our lab science classes are NOT part of the regular tuition at the Academy; we are happy to give you credit for other science classes you may participate in during your time at the Academy. If you choose to take this optional class, there is an additional fee to cover the cost of supplies, books, and instruction.
This is a year-long class. Classes begin 9/3.
Instructors: Suzanne Rezelman
Prerequisites: Biology, Algebra I
Credits: 1.5 (Science with Lab)
Maximum Enrollment: 10
FEE: $400/semester ($720/year paid in August) for enrolled students
In this year-long class, we’ll focus our intellectual energy on understanding matter, energy, and entropy, and how these components behave and interact with each other. We will explore the periodic table, chemical reactions, solutions, and nuclear chemistry through lectures, discussions, and labs. Supplies and textbooks are provided by the Academy with the cost of tuition; books and supplies must be returned to the school at the end of the course.
